  • When carving pumpkins, the bigger the mouth and eyes the better. We want to maximize the amount of light coming from these openings.

  • Cut off the flash.

  • Avoid camera shake by using a tripod and self timer.

  • Darken the room or shoot at dusk to enhance the pumpkin's glow.

  • Experiment with bracket exposure when using a digital SLR

  • Experiment with your point and shoot using scene modes like sunset, silhouette, or night landscape.

  • Experiment with HDR modes on your mobile phone and cameras.

  • If your candle does not generate enough light, try a flashlight.'
